Liven Up Lockdown with April Fool’s Pranks

April Fool's Day montage

April Fool’s is like Marmite- you love it, or hate it. Some people go completely overboard bringing out the same plastic dog poo and fart cushion every year and some just roll their eyes and tut. This April 1st though why not liven up lockdown with some April Fools for the kids. It’s payback time parents- let’s trick the little munckins and earn brownie points for life.

Here’s a round up of some of our Favourites:

Shoe Stuffing

Stuff the inside tips of your children’s shoes with toilet paper, tissues or cotton balls. They will wonder why they can’t get their shoes on.

Brownies-

Tell the kids you’ve made brownies and then let them find a pan of brown-e’s (cut out letter E’s from brown card or paper)- Genius!!!

Bubblewrap-

Hide a strip of  bubblewrap between the toilet seat & the bowl so when your victim sits down it goes POP!

Tripping-

Carry an empty mug really carefully with both hands as if it’s full. When you get close to your victim pretend to trip and throw the fake liquid over them.

Yukky Toast

Spread a piece of toast with a thin layer of English mustard so it looks like butter.

Dodgy Milk

Put a couple of drops of green food colouring in the milk container.

Creepy Crawlies

Balance a plastic spider on the top of the door so it falls down when the door is opened.

Bubbles Galore

Put a small squirt of washing up liquid in the toilet cistern. It will flush bubbles! Warning- it gets messy!

And here’s one specifically to liven up Lockdown-

Text a typing dots gif

This can be done to adults and kids- Start up a text conversation with one of your friends, then halfway through send them a gif of the typing dots. They’ll be waiting for a text that will never arrive…See how long you can keep them waiting.

And as an added bonus here’s a selection of a few more courtesy of 5Minute Crafts

Have a great April Fool’s everyone and keep safe…
