Meet Christine Marrington and Rachel Rodrigues, Self-published Author and Illustrator.
Christine Marrington
I have been writing stories and poems for my grandchildren as they were growing up in the 1990’s. This particular story came about after they insisted on me ‘telling’ them a story at bedtime. It sat in a draw for a long time until I met Rachel, who’s wonderful illustrations have brought this story to life.

Meeting Christine was a chance encounter. I never expected to be asked to do illustrations for a children’s book. I have always enjoyed painting, and water colour has always been my favourite. I paint as a hobby and for friends. So, we met and shared our work and experiences, and soon became friends. The story of the Woodpecker is so beautifully written by Christine, it inspired me to paint the images you see today.
