This book, Oscar’s Book of Fun, was written and illustrated by Oscar, age 8, just a few weeks before his beloved grandad Jacob passed away. Jacob had been living with cancer for three years, but sadly, it went undiagnosed for a long time — meaning he couldn’t get the treatment that might have helped save or prolong his life.

Oscar wanted to do something special, something that would make people smile and feel better on sad days, just like his Grandad always did.

Inside this joyful little book, you’ll find jokes, word games and puzzles, all created to spread laughter and lift spirits. Oscar hopes it brings happiness to anyone who reads it.

Jacob was an academic who loved books and dedicated his later life to education. That’s why this project is especially meaningful — a book written by his grandson, filled with love, laughter and hope.
