Sunflowers and Nightingales is a collection of words and illustrations by children, designed to uplift and inspire. An anthology of poetry, prose and artwork created by children for the displaced people of Ukraine.
Submit your writing or artwork to us by Tuesday 19th April.
We’re looking for feel-good stories, poems or artwork about achievement, overcoming adversity, kindness, love and humour. Make it funny or heart-warming, not good versus evil and definitely no violence or war.
- Proceeds from the sales of this book will go to charities helping the displaced people of Ukraine.
- Stories or poems no longer than 800 words.
- Illustrations/cartoons can be b/w or full colour. You will need to type them up (or get someone to help you). For any artwork, please scan it (you can use scan app on your phone).
- You must be aged 7-16 years to submit your work for possible inclusion in this book
- The deadline: you have until Tuesday 19th April 2022 to submit something to us. That’s not long, so get writing!
With the positive effect reading and writing has on children, Sunflowers and Nightingales will not only raise funds for Ukraine, but also bring warmth, love and positivity for everyone involved in the making and reading of this book.
